About "Tess and the derelict boat"

We walk Bokkomlaan regularly, and my daughter loves wandering from jetty to jetty, inspecting the debris along the shore. She is a real little dreamer, conjuring up stories around the derelict old boat. The pelicans are fed by the fishworkers, and have become tame enough to cautiously approach us.

FREELANCE ILLUSTRATOR AND FINE ARTIST

What is my art all about?

Every painting
is a mental, emotional and spiritual adventure.
Im too scared to start, thrilled beyond heaven to be at it, and cant wait to be done to see the end result.
No pain exists; time is a floating from day into night,
Morning into afternoon,
shapes And colours emerging at their own pace,
Discipline tempering excitement.......
Above all this:
Colour

Changing from a fashion design career, she turned her attention to art. First concentrating on oils, she recently moved over to acrylics and inks. She has a passion for the West Coast of South Africa, where she resides. The wide open spaces of where river, sea and land meets, offer her a rich variety of subjects to paint.

Her paintings have found their way to private collections all across the world including countries like the Netherlands, Australia, New Zealand, Canada and England.
I am of the opinion that Art is a science, color a field that would take one years and years to discover and master. Art principles are meant to be followed and improvised upon, not neglected and abandoned for the sake of everything goes. It is a rewarding and fun, yet serious business. Art collectors put their trust in you, and that trust has to be nurtured. It is hard to make a living from art; I suppose it has to be a calling of sorts. Art is an inseparable part of my life. This is the way I express inexpressible emotion.
