This specific young male lion is well-known to me, in that I had the privilege of numerous encounters with him and am always inspired to make artworks of him. About Retha
Having grown up on a game farm in the northern parts of South Africa, Retha was inspired to paint and create since an early age. After high school she obtained a tertiary degree totally unrelated to that of the arts at the University of Pretoria. She then pursued a corporate career while creating artworks in her spare time - thereby living her passion. Having successfully participated in many formal art exhibitions over many years, Retha has been focussing mostly on Wild Life Art for some years now. Working exclusively with Oil on Canvas, for her it is of utmost importance to do the art work, as well as the essence of the animal, justice on all levels. She specializes in creating commissioned art works for her clients and has sold her art to clients in Europe, Australia, New Zealand, USA, Canada, as well as locally.
