About Deon
CV DEON DORFLING
Background I have always been interested in drawing from an early age.It was only after attending an art exhibition in 2004, that I seriously decided to take up painting again .I am a self taught artist and my preferred medium I use are pastels. Subject I do not have a preference for any subject in particular ,but will paint anything that inspires me.I started out by concentrating on animals ,and at this stage will do any subject that I feel will make a good painting.I mainly work from photographs in my studio. Work and Style As I mentioned pastel is the medium that I feel most comfortable with but has started painting with acrylics which I enjoy very much. I have learned to improve my technique and style by attending art exhibitions and studying other artists work, and from any art books and magazines that I can lay my hands on, and through lots of trial and error. I hope that all the different subjects I choose taken together, that my paintings display a unifying style. My goal with every painting is to produce the very best painting that I can and I believe development will come on its own.
