About Barbara

Barbara describes herself as an Artist essentially in love with colour. She uses it at any given opportunity, in various mediums, painting in bold forms and shapes depicting abstract, impressionistic compositions of whatever inspires her at the time, be it a sunset, a sky and object or a figure.

Barbara decribes herself as largely self-taught, but she has a background of grafic art as well as attending art lessons from various artists for example, Frans Esterhuis, Paul Botes, Isabel le Roux, Peter Hall,Sally Becker,Richard Rennie.

Barbara exhibits in mixed exhibitions throughout the Eastern Cape including the Grahamstown Festival and is represented by The Square Gallery in Port Alfred where she lives. She is a member of EPSAC and the Kowie Art Group with whom she exhibits on a regular basis as well as having one man exhibitions from time to time. Her work is in the possession of collecters in South Africa as well as the United States, United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand, Spain and France.
