About Katharine

I have been painting since I was a child. I was reminded of this when some old paintings and figure drawings from my teens turned up in my father's home. It is my natural way to communicate especially the quiet subtle things that are hard to put into words.
I am excited by landscape and the vast sweep of the mountains and plains that seem to go on forever in Africa! But it is also people who make a place and I love to sketch and paint people going about their everyday lives.
