About Annie

Annie Steyn

After finishing matric, Annie studied Art through the International Correspondence School in London. She obtained a Diploma for the Industrial course containing numerous subjects including Oils and Pastel and Watercolours and Magazine and Book Illustrations.

Annie prefers doing free-lance painting. She first used oil paints and when acrylic came on the market, this medium as well as water colours were used. Acrylic paintings of Aloes of South Africa were exhibited at an Aloe Show in the Pretoria Townhall some time ago. Being a housewife, painting was only done as a hobby. Numerous paintings have been sold, also to overseas visitors.

She prefers sceneries of mountains and the country side, the sea, birds and flowers, as well as some animals. She likes details in pictures and paints from photos or memories of places.
