Reference AR8 About "After Stormy Seas" This painting was done from a photo taken at Umngazi River mouth after the stormy seas that battered the East coast in March 2007. The dead tree in the foreground was cast onto the rocks, by the heavy seas, and this made a good centre piece for the picture, and gives the scene both depth and perspective. |

I was born in Durban,and have spent my entire life in what I still believe is one of best places on the South African coast.I have always been interested in art since my schooldays, and attended extra art lessons while at school. I am self taught, and have dabbled in painting over the years, but only started painting seriously a few years ago. I am a recently retired bank employee, and now run my own property valuation company,and do painting in my spare time.I enjoy photography and my paintings of wildlife, landscapes, and the many diverse people of our country, are all from photographs that I have taken, or those sent to me by friends.
