About Este

Este Mostert

Este Mostert is propelled to paint. It is her natural release, a second nature. Her career developed from a desire to express her creative abilities and attributes. She paints her dream world. She romanticizes everyday realities by transposing her experiences to an environment where old-worldly gentleness prevails. Her work shows a touch of Cezanne and a dash of Matisse.
The images' portrayed consist of esoteric figures that are frozen in a fleeting instant of time. The atmosphere created by colour and light, is strengthened by means of line and brush strokes. Her work comes alive through complete integration of colour, line, composition and atmosphere.

Exhibitions

Esté did formal art at the University of the Free State where her artistic abilities and skills, and her mode of expression were shaped by the likes of Casper Steenkamp, Ben Bothma and H.H.T. Treurlinckt, to name a few.

Esté held her first solo exhibition in 1981 and many other national and international exhibitions followed.
