About The African Portrait

The African Portrait specializing in portraiture that represents the people of the continent of Africa, was founded by the Sirkhoth family in 2004. The gallery aims at celebrating Africa in all its beauty and diversity. Cape Town based Grant Oxche and Mekhala van der Schyff are the two artists who exclusively provide artwork for the gallery. By representing them and marketing their work, the African Portrait maintains high quality work for its customers, who are mainly tourists, local businesses and art collectors. Focus is paid to the varius tribes found within the continent of Africa such as the Bume, Surma, San, Samburu, Masai, Himba, Zulu people.
