About "Whimsical"
Inspired by a photograph from the talented Cape Town Photographer, Landi Groenewald from Organic Tales. Model is Charo Albarracin. Love the Whimsical, almost "Alice in Wonderland" feeling to the original photograph. Replaced the background with something more abstract and to help simplify the image so that the focus will fall mainly on the characters. There is quite a lot of detail in her dress, but the bunny is drawn with a very quick mark making style. Used a slightly different technique for the drawing of the face, which was lots of fun and definitely going to make use of it again. Would love to create more similar images like this in the near future.
I think it would look stunning if it is framed in a plain black frame or even an elaborate silver frame, along with other black and white images. Ideal for a girl's room, especially one that likes cute bunnies.

About Liesel
I am a Fine Artist, based in Free State, South Africa. I specialize in realistic drawings and paintings of People, with a subtle Christian Narrative. My preferred mediums are Graphite Pencils, Soft Pastels, and Oil Paint. I work mostly from photographs, but love to do life studies when I get the opportunity.
My personal work deals with self-believe, and identity, especially regarding my daily battle as a Christian to realign myself to God's word. It is also about God's values in contrast to the World's.
I have art collectors all over South Africa, as well as overseas. In addition, I have created a wide variety of custom-made portrait commissions for customers, working mainly from photographs.
